Fresh Start Residential Cleaning Terms of Service

Website use

By using this website, you agree to use it only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not interfere with the site, its forms, or its communication channels.

All site copy, branding, logos, and design elements remain the property of Fresh Start Residential Cleaning L.L.C. unless otherwise stated.

Quotes, scheduling, and service standards

Information on this site is provided for general business and service information. A quote, walk-through, or message exchange does not create a cleaning-service agreement by itself.

Scheduling, availability, scope, and pricing are confirmed separately between Fresh Start and the client. Service details may change if the condition of the home, timing, clutter level, or requested scope changes from what was originally described.

The approved quotation, sales order, recurring service plan, written service description, these Terms of Service, and any separately approved specialty-service or higher-risk-treatment authorization together form the service agreement.

A request, expectation, checklist, message, or instruction provided after a quotation or service scope has been accepted does not automatically modify the agreed scope of work.

Material additions, substitutions, or changes to the agreed service must be accepted by Fresh Start before they become part of the service.

Standard cleaning

Fresh Start provides professional residential cleaning services.

Standard cleaning is intended to remove ordinary household soil through cleaning methods reasonably appropriate for the apparent surface, condition, and service being performed.

For ordinary hard-surface cleaning, Fresh Start generally uses an all-purpose or similarly appropriate general-purpose cleaning solution whose primary cleaning mechanism is surfactant action, together with reasonable mechanical agitation.

Typical tools used for this purpose include:

1. Microfiber cloths.
2. Non-scratch sponges.
3. Nylon cleaning brushes.
4. Functionally similar non-damaging cleaning tools when appropriate.

Fresh Start may also use vacuums, mops, glass-cleaning equipment, dusting equipment, specialty tools, and other equipment appropriate to the specific service being performed.

Standard cleaning does not mean that Fresh Start will continually increase chemical strength, acidity, alkalinity, solvent strength, abrasiveness, dwell time, heat, pressure, scraping, or mechanical action until every visible or tactile condition has been eliminated.

Fresh Start's responsibility is to perform the agreed cleaning using reasonable professional methods without creating an unreasonable risk of damage to the surface, finish, substrate, item, property, or surrounding materials.

Cleaning is not restoration

Fresh Start Residential Cleaning is a professional residential cleaning company and is not a restoration or remediation company.

Unless specifically discussed, documented, and quoted, Fresh Start provides cleaning rather than restoration, refinishing, resurfacing, remediation, repair, conservation, or condition-specific material treatment.

Some contaminants may bond to, react with, stain, etch, oxidize, corrode, penetrate, discolor, polymerize on, or otherwise physically or chemically alter the underlying material or substrate.

Standard cleaning does not guarantee complete removal or correction of:

1. Aged or accumulated residues.
2. Polymerized or oxidized oils and fats.
3. Chemically altered soils.
4. Embedded soils.
5. Adhesives or adhesive residue.
6. Permanent staining.
7. Dye transfer.
8. Heavy mineral deposits.
9. Mineral etching.
10. Oxidation or corrosion.
11. Finish deterioration.
12. Discoloration.
13. Mold staining.
14. Damaged or severely discolored grout.
15. Burned or carbonized material.
16. Paint or paint transfer.
17. Construction residue.
18. Smoke residue.
19. Chemically altered finishes.
20. Other substances that have become strongly bonded to, incorporated into, or chemically associated with a surface.

Results are not guaranteed when separating a contaminant from the substrate is difficult, unsafe, unlikely to produce meaningful improvement, or likely to damage or materially alter the surface.

Fresh Start may limit, skip, or decline work on affected surfaces.

Remediation, stain correction, specialty surface restoration, construction cleanup, and other condition-specific problem solving are not included unless specifically discussed, documented, and quoted before service.

The presence of remaining staining, discoloration, tackiness, residue, oxidation, wear, buildup, or another condition after standard cleaning does not by itself establish that the affected surface was not cleaned or that the service was performed improperly.

Unknown soils, materials, and treatment compatibility

Fresh Start performs cleaning based on the information reasonably available at the time of service.

Residential surfaces and soils frequently cannot be completely identified through visual inspection alone.

A visible surface may consist of multiple materials, including a finish or coating, paint, varnish, lacquer, laminate, veneer, sealant, protective treatment, adhesive layer, and underlying parent substrate.

Likewise, soil may consist of or contain oils, fats, proteins, minerals, dyes, adhesives, polymers, oxidation products, cleaning-product residue, construction material, biological material, or other substances whose composition, age, treatment history, and chemical condition are unknown.

Fresh Start is not responsible for performing chemical analysis, laboratory identification, destructive testing, materials testing, or definitive identification of an unknown soil, coating, finish, adhesive, or substrate as part of standard cleaning.

Identification of a surface, substrate, coating, finish, or soil does not by itself establish that a particular cleaning method is safe.

Compatibility may also depend on factors including:

1. Material formulation.
2. Chemical concentration.
3. Surface age.
4. Cure state.
5. Previous chemical exposure.
6. Existing deterioration.
7. Manufacturing method.
8. Installation method.
9. Coating condition.
10. Adhesive system.
11. Temperature.
12. Dwell time.
13. Mechanical action.
14. Previous repairs or refinishing.
15. Other variables that may not be known or reasonably discoverable during a residential cleaning service.

When Fresh Start cannot determine with reasonable confidence that a treatment beyond standard cleaning is compatible with the affected surface, Fresh Start may presume that the treatment presents a material risk of damage and decline to perform it.

Fresh Start is not required to experiment with progressively stronger chemicals, solvents, acids, alkalis, oxidizers, abrasives, scraping, heat, extended dwell time, increased mechanical action, or other increasingly aggressive methods merely because standard cleaning does not completely remove a condition.

Treatment beyond standard cleaning may require specialty evaluation, compatibility testing, manufacturer guidance, professional restoration methods, written client authorization, or referral to another qualified provider.

Fresh Start may stop treatment at any point when further chemical or mechanical action could reasonably create a risk of discoloration, changes in sheen, etching, swelling, softening, scratching, coating failure, loss of adhesion, delamination, staining, deformation, deterioration, or other damage.

The inability to safely continue escalating treatment does not establish that the affected area was not cleaned or that Fresh Start failed to perform the agreed service.

Specialty and restorative treatment

Treatment beyond standard cleaning may include methods such as:

1. Strong solvents or solvent-based removers.
2. Highly alkaline cleaners.
3. Strong acidic cleaners.
4. Oxidizing or reducing agents.
5. Abrasive compounds.
6. Aggressive abrasive pads.
7. Scrapers or blades.
8. Extended chemical dwell.
9. Specialty stain-removal chemistry.
10. Specialty restoration equipment.
11. Other chemical or mechanical processes materially more aggressive than standard cleaning.

These methods are not automatically included simply because the affected surface itself was included in a cleaning quotation or service description.

Fresh Start may classify further treatment as specialty or restorative work when standard cleaning does not reasonably resolve the condition.

Specialty or restorative work may require:

1. Additional evaluation.
2. A separate quotation or price.
3. A test area.
4. Additional labor.
5. Written authorization.
6. Acceptance of identified risks.
7. Referral to a qualified specialist.

Fresh Start is not obligated to perform a specialty or restorative treatment merely because a client requests it.

When appropriate, specialty work may be referred to or performed by a qualified service partner under a separate approved scope and price.

Surface compatibility and stopping treatment

Fresh Start may stop cleaning or decline further treatment when continuing would reasonably require a method that could damage or materially alter the affected surface.

Possible effects of incompatible or excessive treatment may include:

1. Discoloration.
2. Changes in sheen.
3. Softening.
4. Swelling.
5. Raised wood grain.
6. Paint or coating removal.
7. Finish deterioration.
8. Delamination.
9. Loss of adhesion.
10. Scratching.
11. Etching.
12. Staining.
13. Distortion.
14. Permanent dimensional changes.
15. Other visible, chemical, or structural alteration.

Stopping treatment to avoid reasonably foreseeable surface damage does not constitute a failure to perform the cleaning service.

Cabinet cleaning

Cabinet cleaning is one example of a service in which soil removal must be balanced against the condition and compatibility of the materials being cleaned.

Cabinet cleaning is intended to remove ordinary household soil from accessible cabinet surfaces using standard cleaning methods appropriate for the apparent finish.

Cabinetry may consist of solid wood, engineered wood, MDF, particleboard, veneer, laminate, paint, lacquer, varnish, polyurethane, adhesives, combinations of these materials, or other materials not listed.

Fresh Start may not be able to identify the complete cabinet construction, coating, finish system, adhesive system, or underlying substrate through visual inspection alone.

Even when the apparent cabinet material or finish can be identified, Fresh Start may not be able to determine with reasonable confidence how that specific surface will react to stronger chemistry or mechanical treatment.

Cabinet cleaning does not guarantee complete removal of aged grease, polymerized cooking oils, adhesive residue, discoloration, staining, finish degradation, tackiness, or other soil that does not reasonably release through standard cleaning.

Fresh Start will not automatically escalate to strong solvents, highly alkaline or acidic cleaners, abrasives, scraping, extended chemical dwell, or other specialty or restorative methods when doing so could damage or alter the cabinet finish, coating, adhesive, veneer, substrate, or another component.

Treatment requiring substantially stronger chemistry, specialized soil identification, substrate or coating evaluation, compatibility testing, or restorative methods may be classified and priced as a separate specialty service.

Unless specifically included in the accepted quotation or service description, cabinet cleaning applies only to the surfaces expressly identified in the service scope.

Cabinet tops, undersides, bottoms, interior shelving, drawer interiors, hardware removal, areas behind appliances, and other concealed or nonstandard surfaces are not included unless specifically stated.

Remaining residue, tackiness, staining, discoloration, or another pre-existing condition after standard cabinet cleaning does not by itself establish that the cabinet was not cleaned or that the service was performed improperly.

Recurring scope policy

Recurring maintenance is offered as Standard Clean or Signature Clean. Each visit is priced as a base fee plus a rate per square foot of the home, with a minimum per visit of $165 for Standard Clean and $195 for Signature Clean.

A client may remove a room from the recurring scope for a credit of $15 per visit, or add a room for $40 per visit. The credit is a fixed scope adjustment, not the value of the room, and no change may bring a visit below the applicable minimum. A removed room stays removed until the client requests a new scope; it does not create a credit toward other work.

A bathrooms-only visit is priced at $100 plus $40 per bathroom and is offered only when it fits the service schedule.

Fresh Start may occasionally approve other scope exceptions when the scope still fits the schedule, service structure, and pricing model.

Cleared surfaces and clutter policy

Fresh Start cleans cleared, flat surfaces. The team does not sort, tidy, organize, or relocate papers, electronics, cords, laundry piles, collectibles, or other personal belongings in order to access hidden surfaces.

If clutter blocks part of a counter, desk, shelf, or floor, Fresh Start may clean the open area around those items but is not responsible for cleaning beneath belongings left in place.

Excessive clutter, dishes, clothing, paperwork, construction materials, or other personal belongings may prevent Fresh Start from reaching surfaces that would normally be cleaned.

Fresh Start may decline to move items that appear unusually heavy, unstable, unsafe, fragile, irreplaceable, or likely to cause property damage.

Recurring frequency and pricing

Recurring pricing is based on the service tier, home size, visit frequency, and normal lived-in conditions. Weekly and bi-weekly service are priced at the same rate. Monthly service carries a surcharge per visit because more labor is needed to restore the home each visit.

Signature Clean includes the additional services listed on the written quote or booking confirmation. Included services described as available are provided as scheduling and equipment allow and carry no credit when not provided on a given visit.

Homes with heavy pet hair, unusual clutter, deferred cleaning, or conditions outside normal maintenance may require custom pricing or an initial deep clean before recurring service begins.

Any recurring visit that falls beyond 6 weeks from the previous visit may be repriced at the current initial deep clean rate or may require a reset visit before recurring service resumes.

Add-ons and excluded work

Interior and exterior window washing, inside ovens, inside refrigerators, linen changes, odor treatments, and similar detail tasks are add-on services unless they are specifically listed on the written quote or booking confirmation.

Bathroom mirrors are part of the standard clean. Glass entry doors and sliding doors are spot-cleaned on the inside only unless a larger glass scope is quoted separately.

The inclusion of a general category of surface or area does not automatically include specialty treatment, restoration, remediation, concealed surfaces, disassembly, hardware removal, or treatment requiring materially different chemistry or equipment unless specifically stated.

Payment and card on file

Payment is due upon completion of service unless otherwise stated in writing on the quotation, sales order, service agreement, or invoice.

Fresh Start may require a valid payment method to remain on file before performing service.

By providing a payment method to Fresh Start, the customer authorizes Fresh Start to securely maintain that payment method through its payment processor and to automatically charge the card or other payment method on file for amounts properly due under the service agreement.

Unless different arrangements have been agreed to in writing, the payment method on file may be charged for:

1. Completed cleaning services.
2. Approved additional services.
3. Specialty services specifically authorized by the customer.
4. Applicable cancellation, rescheduling, lockout, or inability-to-access charges.
5. Promotional repayment amounts or other charges specifically authorized through an accepted quotation, promotion, or separate agreement.
6. Other amounts properly due under the customer's accepted service agreement.

Fresh Start will provide an invoice or receipt identifying the amount charged.

The customer is responsible for maintaining a valid payment method on file and promptly updating expired, replaced, declined, or otherwise unusable payment information.

If a payment is declined or otherwise unsuccessful, the amount remains due and Fresh Start may suspend future services until the outstanding balance is paid and a valid payment method is provided.

A request for inspection, correction, rework, or consideration of a service concern does not automatically postpone, suspend, or cancel the payment obligation for properly delivered services unless Fresh Start agrees otherwise in writing or applicable law requires otherwise.

Past-due balances accrue interest at 7% per annum, calculated monthly without compounding, or the maximum rate permitted by applicable law, whichever is lower.

The customer is responsible for reasonable collection costs, court costs, and attorney fees incurred by Fresh Start Residential Cleaning in collecting an unpaid balance, to the extent permitted by law.

Booking deposits

Fresh Start may require a booking deposit for first-time cleanings, deep cleanings, move-in or move-out services, specialty services, larger appointments, or other services.

Unless otherwise stated on the quotation, the standard booking deposit is 20% of the scheduled service price.

The deposit is applied toward the final balance and is subject to the applicable cancellation policy.

Established recurring maintenance clients generally do not require a booking deposit, although a valid payment method may still be required to remain on file.

Quotations and pricing

Quotations are based on the information reasonably available before service, including property size and layout, customer descriptions, photographs or walkthrough observations, requested services and identified priorities, accessibility and occupancy, and the property condition represented before service.

Services may be quoted as fixed-price services or hourly and variable-scope services.

For a fixed-price service, the customer purchases the described service visit for the quoted price. The price is not based solely on the amount of time spent at the property and does not guarantee a particular number of labor hours, an exhaustive checklist, or correction of every condition present.

For an hourly or variable-scope service, the customer purchases professional labor at the rate stated on the quotation. One labor hour means one employee working for one hour. Two employees working for one clock hour equals two labor hours.

The approved quotation covers only the stated service category, requested additions, and conditions reasonably represented before service.

Additional charges may apply when the customer requests additional services, materially changes the scope, or when previously undisclosed conditions require significant additional work.

Removing one quoted task does not automatically entitle the customer to substitute a different task of equal perceived value, time, difficulty, or importance.

Changes to scope must be accepted by Fresh Start.

Fresh Start will communicate material price changes before performing significant additional work whenever reasonably possible.

First-time cleaning visits

All first-time cleaning visits are categorized and priced as deep cleans because Fresh Start Residential Cleaning has not previously serviced the property and must account for unknown conditions, initial evaluation, setup, customer preferences, quality-control requirements, and the greater variability associated with first visits.

The term "deep clean" identifies the first-time service and pricing category. It does not promise restoration-level work, unlimited labor, exhaustive detailing, or correction of every condition present in the home.

The actual work performed during a first-time visit is determined using reasonable professional judgment based on the home's actual condition, the requested services, and priorities identified by the customer before service.

Areas with visible or customer-identified cleaning needs may receive greater attention. Areas that already meet an appropriate cleanliness standard may receive light cleaning or no additional intervention. Fresh Start Residential Cleaning is not required to perform unnecessary work solely to consume additional time.

Fresh Start Residential Cleaning is not responsible for searching for hidden, obscure, unusually minor, or undisclosed soil conditions that are not reasonably apparent during normal professional cleaning. Customers should identify unusual concerns, buildup, stains, residues, or priority areas before service begins.

If the home requires substantially more work than was reasonably represented, Fresh Start Residential Cleaning may prioritize the most visible and impactful areas, limit work to the service economically supported by the quotation, skip work requiring specialty or remediation methods, recommend additional service, or provide a separate quotation for additional labor or specialty work.

The quoted price remains due when the first-time service has been properly delivered, even if some areas required minimal work or the visit was completed more quickly than originally anticipated.

Maintenance cleaning

Maintenance cleaning is intended for properties that Fresh Start Residential Cleaning services on a recurring basis.

Maintenance cleaning is limited to the recurring scope stated in the customer's service plan, quotation, sales order, checklist, or account notes.

Maintenance cleaning does not include accumulated deep-clean work, restoration or remediation, specialty stain treatment, heavy mineral or scale removal, adhesive or paint removal, construction dust, excessive pet contamination, major event cleanup, neglected buildup, or work caused by missed or substantially extended service intervals.

Additional work may be performed only when separately approved and priced.

If a property can no longer be reasonably maintained within the recurring scope, Fresh Start Residential Cleaning may recommend additional labor, a supplemental deep clean, a revised recurring price, a frequency adjustment, or another service modification.

Professional judgment and work allocation

Unless a specific written task list has been agreed upon, Fresh Start Residential Cleaning will determine the sequence and allocation of work using reasonable professional judgment.

Work allocation may consider customer-identified priorities, visible and reasonably discoverable soil, accessibility, safety, surface sensitivity, available service time, the property's overall condition, and the expected visual and sanitary benefit.

General requests such as "clean the home" authorize Fresh Start Residential Cleaning to allocate labor among appropriate cleaning tasks at its reasonable discretion. Such requests do not create an obligation to inspect or clean every possible surface, fixture, possession, hidden area, or minor condition.

Fresh Start may also decline or limit a cleaning method when the expected improvement is disproportionate to the time, risk, surface sensitivity, or specialty treatment required.

Hourly and variable-scope services

Hourly and variable-scope services purchase professional labor and expertise rather than guaranteed completion of a predetermined checklist.

Fresh Start Residential Cleaning will perform productive work during the billable service period. Work will be prioritized according to customer instructions and reasonable professional judgment.

Completion of every requested or potentially available task is not guaranteed within a particular number of labor hours.

If additional work remains after the authorized labor has been performed, the customer may approve additional labor or schedule a future visit.

Client-requested higher-risk treatment

Fresh Start may recommend against a chemical or mechanical treatment when the treatment creates a material risk to the affected surface.

A customer request does not require Fresh Start to perform treatment that Fresh Start considers unreasonably risky.

If Fresh Start agrees to perform a treatment after recommending against it, Fresh Start may require a separate written authorization identifying:

1. The requested treatment.
2. The reason standard cleaning was insufficient.
3. Known or reasonably foreseeable risks.
4. Any proposed test area.
5. Limitations on the expected result.

The customer may be required to acknowledge and accept identified risks before treatment begins.

A successful test area does not guarantee that the same treatment will produce an identical result on every portion of the surface.

Fresh Start may decline or stop treatment if testing or treatment indicates that the surface is reacting adversely or if Fresh Start otherwise determines that continuing creates an unreasonable risk.

Nothing in this section waives liability or legal rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

Newly painted, refinished, repaired, installed, or treated surfaces

Customers should disclose surfaces that have recently been:

1. Painted.
2. Stained.
3. Sealed.
4. Refinished.
5. Repaired.
6. Installed.
7. Caulked.
8. Grouted.
9. Coated.
10. Chemically treated.

Fresh Start may decline or limit cleaning of newly finished surfaces when adequate cure time, coating information, manufacturer instructions, or other relevant information is unavailable.

Fresh Start is not responsible for deterioration attributable to a surface that was represented, or reasonably appeared, to be adequately cured and suitable for normal cleaning when it was not, except to the extent liability cannot legally be limited.

Complete Clean project totals

For a newly accepted VIP or Standard Complete Clean project quote, the written scope and maximum price are confirmed before booking. These project-total provisions control over general provisions about material charges, estimating changes, or economically supported work for that project.

When the scope is clear, the quote states one fixed total for the listed work. That total is also the maximum; taking longer than expected does not increase it. Where variable pricing is agreed, the quote states the expected total, maximum total, and billing basis used to calculate the final charge.

All cleaning materials, supplies, equipment, mandatory service charges, and applicable taxes for the listed work are included within that total or maximum. Any deposit is credited toward the total, not added to it. Ordinary estimating errors, slower work, or consumable overruns do not reopen the maximum.

If the client requests additional work or materially different conditions are discovered, Fresh Start will pause the affected work, explain the difference, and obtain written approval before increasing the scope or price. Options may include completing the feasible original scope within the maximum, agreeing a revised written scope and maximum, or deferring affected work. If the client cannot be reached, the existing maximum remains in force; no unapproved extras or undisclosed reduction of the agreed service will be substituted.

The maximum applies to the listed work, not unlimited tasks. Existing accepted agreements retain their specific terms unless amended by agreement. Separately authorized services and separately applicable cancellation or access charges remain subject to their disclosed terms.

Consumable materials

Professional cleaning may require cleaning agents, microfiber products, disposable supplies, specialty products, personal protective equipment, pads, filters, bags, blades, and other job-specific consumable materials.

For Complete Clean projects, materials are included within the project total as described above. For other services, applicable material charges will be identified on the quotation, sales order, or invoice.

Individual materials may be tracked separately for internal inventory and job-costing purposes while appearing as a consolidated "Consumable Materials" line on customer-facing documents.

Access and customer responsibilities

The customer is responsible for providing safe and timely property access, functioning electricity and water, reasonable working conditions, accurate entry instructions, secured animals, and disclosure of known hazards.

Customers are responsible for securing valuables, weapons, medications, confidential materials, cash, jewelry, and fragile or irreplaceable possessions before service.

Customers should disclose material conditions that could substantially affect cleaning methods, safety, scope, or risk, including:

1. Recent painting or refinishing.
2. Construction or remodeling.
3. Known damaged surfaces.
4. Known specialty coatings.
5. Hazardous materials.
6. Significant pest activity.
7. Unusual contamination.
8. Material changes to the requested scope.

Fresh Start Residential Cleaning may decline, suspend, or discontinue work when conditions create an unreasonable risk to employees, customers, animals, property, equipment, or the surface being treated.

Fresh Start is not required to assume that a surface or condition materially changed after a quotation was prepared unless the change is communicated or reasonably apparent.

Cancellations, rescheduling, and lockouts

Recurring maintenance visits cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice are subject to a $50 late cancellation fee. All other appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours notice are subject to a late cancellation fee equal to 15% of the scheduled service price.

The same fee applies when scheduled service cannot begin because of a customer-controlled condition, including failure to provide access, unsecured animals, unavailable utilities, incorrect entry instructions, undisclosed hazards, or other customer-controlled conditions preventing service from safely beginning.

The parties agree that these fees represent a reasonable estimate of losses associated with reserved production capacity, pre-allocated labor, scheduling disruption, administrative handling, travel, and lost service opportunities that are difficult to calculate precisely. These fees are intended as liquidated damages and not as penalties.

The appointment-level fee in this section is separate from any early-cancellation repayment required by an accepted promotion or service agreement. For cancellation of the qualifying plan itself under the $100,000 Free Service Fund offer, the applicable agreement controls, and only the disclosed promotional window-cleaning credit becomes due.

Fresh Start Residential Cleaning may waive or reduce these fees at its discretion. A prior waiver does not waive the right to enforce the policy on a future occasion.

Applicable legal cancellation rights take precedence where required by law.

Appliance movement, plumbing, and utility connections

Major appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, ranges, and ovens, will not be moved, disconnected, or reconnected unless appliance movement is expressly included in the approved service or separately authorized by the customer.

By requesting or authorizing appliance movement, the customer represents that the appliance, flooring, surrounding cabinetry, utility connections, hoses, fittings, valves, drains, vents, cords, gas connections, and water supply lines are properly installed and in serviceable condition.

Fresh Start Residential Cleaning is not responsible for leaks, breaks, failures, or damage caused by pre-existing corrosion, deterioration, improper installation, hidden defects, weakened materials, defective connections, or the failure of hoses, fittings, valves, copper lines, PEX lines, ice-maker connections, drain lines, vents, electrical cords, gas connections, or adjacent plumbing during ordinary authorized movement or cleaning.

Fresh Start Residential Cleaning does not perform plumbing, gas fitting, electrical work, appliance repair, or appliance installation.

Fresh Start may refuse to move an appliance when its weight, installation, condition, connections, surrounding flooring, or available clearance presents a risk of injury or property damage.

Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot legally be limited under applicable law.

Property condition and liability

Fresh Start Residential Cleaning is not responsible for damage, deterioration, or failure resulting from pre-existing defects, improper installation, manufacturer defects, unstable or deteriorated materials, normal wear, hidden damage, prior chemical use, improper repairs, loose fixtures, unsecured possessions, or conditions revealed only after soil or residue has been removed.

Homes naturally contain aging materials, previous repairs, loose fixtures, worn coatings, compromised finishes, poorly bonded paint, deteriorated adhesives, damaged cabinetry, unstable objects, improperly installed materials, and surfaces that may react unpredictably to cleaning.

Fresh Start Residential Cleaning may decline to clean items or surfaces that appear unstable, damaged, improperly installed, unusually fragile, or likely to be harmed by normal professional cleaning methods.

If something appears unusually vulnerable, Fresh Start may leave it untouched, limit cleaning, perform a test area, or discuss the condition with the customer before proceeding.

Known damaged, delicate, specialty, or unusually valuable items must be disclosed before service.

The fact that an underlying defect, deterioration, staining, discoloration, wear pattern, coating defect, or other pre-existing condition becomes visible after reasonable cleaning does not by itself establish that the cleaning caused the condition.

Satisfaction and service concerns

Fresh Start Residential Cleaning is committed to providing professional service using reasonable care, skill, and appropriate cleaning methods.

If a significant area specifically included in a maintenance scope or identified as a service priority was unintentionally overlooked, the customer must notify Fresh Start Residential Cleaning within 24 hours after service completion.

Fresh Start Residential Cleaning will review the concern and, when appropriate, provide a reasonable correction. The appropriate correction may include returning to address the affected area, providing a service credit, or another resolution selected by Fresh Start Residential Cleaning.

Fresh Start must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, when appropriate, correct the reported concern.

For first-time, hourly, or professionally prioritized services, this policy does not convert the service into an exhaustive checklist or guarantee that every potential cleaning task will be completed.

This policy is intended to correct legitimate cleaning issues. It is not an unconditional satisfaction guarantee, restoration guarantee, or automatic refund policy.

This policy does not require Fresh Start to:

1. Perform work outside the agreed scope.
2. Perform specialty or restorative work that was not purchased.
3. Use a chemical or mechanical process that Fresh Start reasonably believes could damage or materially alter the affected surface.
4. Guarantee removal of unidentified, aged, embedded, polymerized, oxidized, chemically altered, or otherwise strongly bonded soils.
5. Correct permanent staining, material deterioration, wear, discoloration, mineral etching, damaged grout, damaged finishes, or other conditions that cannot reasonably be corrected through standard cleaning.
6. Correct hidden, obscure, or undisclosed concerns that were not reasonably apparent during normal professional cleaning.
7. Provide a refund solely because the customer expected a restoration-level result from a cleaning service.

This policy does not apply to permanent staining or discoloration, pre-existing damage, restoration or remediation conditions, areas excluded from service, conditions not reasonably correctable through professional cleaning, hidden or undisclosed concerns, or dissatisfaction based solely on the time spent when the quoted service was properly delivered.

Reporting a service concern does not automatically suspend the customer's obligation to pay for properly delivered services.

Damage concerns

If a customer believes something was damaged during service, the customer should contact Fresh Start as soon as reasonably possible and provide information about the affected item and condition.

Fresh Start may inspect the item, review photographs and service documentation, speak with team members involved, evaluate relevant pre-existing conditions, and consider the cleaning method used.

When damage is reasonably determined to have been caused by Fresh Start, Fresh Start will work with the customer toward an appropriate resolution.

This section does not make Fresh Start responsible for deterioration attributable to pre-existing damage, defective materials, improper installation, unstable objects, failing finishes, previous chemical exposure, or surfaces that cannot tolerate reasonable cleaning methods.

Photographs and documentation

Fresh Start Residential Cleaning may take photographs before, during, and after service for estimating, property-condition documentation, unusual soil documentation, quality assurance, employee accountability, training, dispute resolution, insurance, and customer communication.

Customer-identifying photographs will not be publicly used for advertising or marketing without separate permission.

Fresh Start may retain service-related photographs and documentation as reasonably necessary for business, quality-control, insurance, training, and dispute-resolution purposes.

Service partners and subcontractors

Certain specialty services may be performed by approved third-party service partners or subcontractors.

Any separate specialty scope, price, warranty, or additional terms will be identified when applicable.

If another provider contracts directly with the customer or collects payment directly from the customer, that provider's terms may apply to its portion of the work.

Fresh Start Residential Cleaning does not guarantee that an appropriate specialty provider will be available for every requested service or property condition.

Services completed by another provider do not automatically become part of Fresh Start's standard cleaning obligations.

Promotions

Promotional services, complimentary upgrades, service credits, and special offers may have additional eligibility requirements or conditions.

Those requirements will be disclosed as part of the applicable offer before acceptance.

If a promotion includes a minimum service period, cancellation condition, repayment of promotional value, eligibility requirement, or other condition, those terms become part of the agreement applicable to that promotion.

No guaranteed restoration outcome

Unless a specific written guarantee states otherwise, Fresh Start does not guarantee that cleaning will return an item or surface to:

1. New condition.
2. Original condition.
3. Uniform coloration.
4. Uniform sheen.
5. A completely residue-free condition when residue has chemically or physically bonded to the surface.
6. A condition suitable for painting, refinishing, coating, sale, inspection, repair, restoration, or another subsequent process.

Customers planning to paint, coat, refinish, repair, restore, or otherwise modify a cleaned surface are responsible for following the preparation requirements of the manufacturer, product, contractor, or professional performing that subsequent work.

Acceptance and controlling documents

Approval or electronic signature of a quotation, acceptance of an online order, scheduling of service after receiving these Terms of Service, or permitting Fresh Start Residential Cleaning to begin work constitutes acceptance of these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

The approved quotation, sales order, recurring service plan, written service description, these Terms of Service, and any separately accepted specialty-service or higher-risk-treatment authorization together form the service agreement.

If a specific written term in the quotation, sales order, or separately accepted service agreement conflicts with these general terms, the specific written term controls for that particular service.

A customer's subjective expectation that was not included in the agreed scope does not modify the service agreement.

Electronic approval, estimate acceptance, booking authorization, payment authorization, and other electronic records may be used to document acceptance of the agreement.

Severability and legal rights

These Terms are intended to be interpreted under applicable Michigan law.

Nothing in these Terms of Service waives any right, benefit, protection, remedy, duty, or liability that cannot legally be waived or limited.

If a provision conflicts with a legal requirement applicable to a particular transaction, the applicable law controls to the extent of that conflict.

Changes to these terms

Fresh Start may revise these terms from time to time.

Updated terms become effective prospectively when posted on this website unless a later effective date is stated.

Material changes affecting an existing recurring customer's payment or service obligations will be communicated before they take effect.

The Terms applicable to a particular service are generally the Terms accepted in connection with that service unless the parties subsequently agree otherwise.
