Specialty add-on
The grease your regular cleaner keeps skipping
Most house cleaners wipe the top of your hood and move on. Fresh Start removes bonded grease film from the underside, seams, and filters — the places that actually affect air quality and smell.
Why the hood area matters
Three problems most homeowners overlook.
Sticky film that will not wipe away
Grease bonds into seams, vent covers, and the underside. Over time it becomes an amber-colored film that rags and spray cannot dissolve.
Your kitchen smells and feels heavy
Every time the fan runs, recirculating hoods push air past that grease film. It affects smell, can irritate allergies, and makes the kitchen feel less clean even after the counters are wiped.
Standard cleaners skip it entirely
Most maintenance crews are not equipped or insured to disassemble filters, work with steam, or handle heavy degreasing. So they simply do not touch it.
Why it needs a professional
Wiping it down yourself is not enough.
- Degreasing sprays loosen surface oil but do not break bonded polymerized grease.
- The underside and duct throat require hands, light, and patience that routine cleaning does not allow.
- Disassembling filters and grease cups safely takes tools and know-how most homeowners do not have.
How we protect your home
No mess left behind.
- Your cooktop and backsplash are covered before we start.
- Filters and grease cups are cleaned in a contained basin — never dumped down your sink.
- Steam and runoff are caught with protective barriers, not your kitchen towels.
The Fresh Start standard
How we do it differently.
Assess first
We look at your hood type, grease level, and finish. Then we quote a firm price before any work starts.
Steam-assisted detail
High-heat steam breaks down bonded grease film on the underside, trim, and filters. Chemistry is matched to the surface — never one-size-fits-all.
Reassemble and polish
Filters, grease guards, and covers go back on properly. Final wipe-down leaves stainless shining, not streaky.
What is included
Residential scope, clearly stated.
- Exterior degreasing on the hood surface and reachable trim
- Underside detail work with steam-assisted passes
- Filter and grease-cup degreasing when removable and safe
- Reachable fan covers and baffles (no motor disassembly)
- Light lens and control panel wipe-down
- Final polish pass for a cleaner finish
Out of scope
- Commercial restaurant hoods
- Ductwork cleaning inside walls
- Electrical or mechanical repairs
- Filter replacement (we clean; we do not stock parts)
Straightforward pricing
$165–$275+
per hood (residential) — quoted upfront
Hood type
Under-cabinet, wall-mounted, and pro-style hoods each require different access and time.
Size and reach
Larger hoods and complex designs take more time to detail properly.
Grease level
Heavy, bonded film requires more steam passes and manual work than light haze.
Pricing is quoted per hood based on hood type, size, finish, and grease level. We confirm a firm price before work begins. Commercial restaurant hoods, ductwork cleaning, and electrical or mechanical repairs are out of scope.
The Fresh Start promise

Price confirmed first
